A little something I rescued from my Mom’s garage. It was a present from my dad a long long time ago. We are going to re-finish it for her front porch. Maybe a planter… Monogrammed or something of that sort. My goal is to finish it before school starts. We will have to wait for a day that is not over 100 degrees and with a little less than 100% humidity :-)
This summer a big home project was painting transforming the living room from Red —> Smokey gray. Click Here to see what it looked like before. It is coming along, but slowly. Everyday I’m moving things around trying to get it just right. I’m very excited about my new addition, a china cabinet. I got it off Craigslist for $50. Sky and I moved it ourselves and I have the bruises to prove it! It is sitting in the garage now waiting to be cleaned and painted. This way it doesn’t come in the house and “never” get painted. In sky’s own words ” It is ugly right now.” You decide, but I will agree with him, it needs updating :-)
Excuse the reflection of weed eaters, brooms and other various “garage stuff.”

On the journey to our house some of the hardware removed itself. I’m totally OK with it and still have it all if I choose to use it, but I would like to explore my options. So for sure a new coat of paint. Here’s the dilemma. Paint color? Most of our furniture is dark. The mantle, doors and crown molding are white. Do I go dark or light? I want this to really accent the dining area and not seem too much. Options I am considering: Dark brown to be matchy matchy with our furniture (we have several tones going on), white, or NAVY Blue. The top of the table has a nice NAVY touch that I think would really work, but I’m so scared to go down that road. I’m posting a few pics of what we have going on and would love to know what you think.
*The wall appears to be blue/gray a combo depending on the light
