Yesterday I arrived in Chicago with friend and co-worker Alison Harris. We took the Amtrak from STL to Chicago’s Union Station. It was a short cab ride to our hotel on the Magnificent Mile. Our first day was low key and a brief introduction to the conference. We are here for the 50th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference. There are three full days of activities, seminars and meetings for educators from around the world. Last night we had the pleasure of meeting some new people from other parts of the country who have some affiliation to economics or finance. I’m looking forward to learning some new information I can share with my students and enjoying a little of the city too.
Upon our arrival we were able to walk around the city before registration began and the welcome reception. We got our Walk on! Walked from our hotel to Navy Pier. They call it the Windy City for a good reason. Beautiful skies and sights!
