Maternity Trend?
What is new on the birthing front?  Custom made hospital gowns… They are priced at about $50, but thank goodness I’m so crafty I made mine for about $20 when it was all said and done.  I’m really excited to wear it after the baby is born.  I think I will wear the hospital provided gown for the actual birth and then change into my clean chic gown after for pics and the rest of my...

Goodbye 2011... Hello 2012
2011 was a wonderful year for the Hagglund’s!  Last night Sky and I rang in the New Year at home with our boys.  It is Hagglund Family tradition to have homemade Stir-Fry on New Year’s Eve.  My hubby can make some mean Stir Fry and Egg Drop Soup.   In 2011 we celebrated our first anniversary as husband and wife and our first year in our new home.  We took an amazing trip to our...

Nursery Plans...
I’m so excited to start decorating the baby’s nursery!  I have been pondering ideas all day as I lay on the couch in between movies.  My sinuses have gotten the best of me the past few days.   My main goal for the winter break is to get the room painted. We have only a few more days to get that checked off our list.   I have picked out Valspar’s Filtered Shade, a light gray for all the walls.  I...

Riverscene Trail Dec 26th
It was a great morning for a hike on the River Scene trail at Castlewood.  The weather this morning was much better than the sleet falling right now. I cannot remember a birthday when I was not sick… For some reason I end up getting sick on Christmas night and feeling it the next few days.  The hike today probably didn’t help my cause much, but it was really nice to get out and get...

A surprise addition to our home...
I am super excited about the newest addition of furniture to our home, baby’s bed!  We got this beauty from our next door neighbor who was kind enough to even help Sky move it into the nursery tonight.  I do love being thrifty and this is an amazing find!  Now I’ve got to get the hubby to put it together and paint the room.  I’ll let him rest tonight, but boy do I have plans for...

One Year Ago Today...
One year ago today Sky and the boys were moving into our new house in Ballwin, MO.  It does not seem like we have lived in our house that long.  I think it is safe to say we have officially unpacked everything as of last weekend.  The guest room is no longer a dumping ground for random items- it is on it’s way to becoming our newest family members room.  We have done a few minor improvements...

15 Weeks... 175 Days to Go
Counting down until baby Hagglund is here!  So much to do!  Today we took a tour of Mercy to tour the labor, delivery and recovery areas for mom and baby.  It made everything seem so real!  Not to mention the occasional sickness, fatigue and baby bump I have forming.  I am now 15 weeks pregnant and baby is about 4inches long weighing in at 2 1/2 oz.  We are definitely getting excited and I...

Picture Gallery Wall Finally Finished
View from the bottom of the stairs View from the top of the stairs I began this project during the summer when I was going through a spray painting phase.  Since I’ve been pregnant, I’ve set aside the paint.  I have been meaning to print photos to put in the frames that have been on the wall for at least 3 months.  Today I finally finished this project.  I used frames I already...

Happy Birthday Granny
October 15th marked the date of Granny’s 80th Birthday.  I was coming home from Chicago, but made it in time to join the celebration.  Here we are together in front of her giant B-Day card!  Hugs and Kisses to the BEST granny ever!

Work & Play in the Windy City
Today was a busy day full of Financial Learning Opportunities.  I spent the morning engaged in a session called Engaging Girls in Economics and Geni Revolution.  We had a Recognition Luncheon and an afternoon of walking the Windy Cindy.  We took the Financial District Walking tour and got to see some Occupy Wall Street protesters firsthand.  It was a mix of the Financial District Old and New...

50th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic...
Yesterday I arrived in Chicago with friend and co-worker Alison Harris.  We took the Amtrak from STL to Chicago’s Union Station.  It was a short cab ride to our hotel on the Magnificent Mile.  Our first day was low key and a brief introduction to the conference.  We are here for the 50th Annual Financial Literacy and Economic Education Conference.  There are three full days of activities,...

Halloweenish Home
Since October has rolled around I have been really excited to decorate for Halloween.  I cam home today and found this in my yard :-) Here is a better pic of the guy over in the corner… Last year he was inside our Apartment.  So glad he is outside this year… He scared me countless times when I would wake up to get a drink in the middle of the night. We are really looking forward...

On the road again...
This weekend Sky and I are visiting grandma’s and grandpa’s in Minnesota.  We headed out of STL after work Friday and arrived early this morning.  We are looking forward to spending some quality family time together and getting a break from the miwest heat.  It is quite a change from 100 degrees to 65! This little preview into fall is quite lovely!

Check out our Geocaching Profile →
Heading out today to find some geocache!  Sunday was our first successful day with our new GPS.  Ami and Jevon joined us from The Happy Meals on their first Geocaching Adventure.  It was very HOT, but we were 2 for 2.  There are only two more in the park and we are setting out today to find both.  If you like hiking and finding cool stuff you will probably like...

Sewing Bench Completed!
This took me awhile to finish and then take pics to post. To see the before and during pics see my original posts. I wanted to keep the bench simple, so I recovered it with some scrap material and batting for cushion.  The old stuff was really OLD!  I sanded down the wood and cleaned it several times.  I think I eventually want to paint this duo, but not quite yet.  For now I’m content with...

Meet Mrs. China Cabinet: I need your opinion!
This summer a big home project was painting transforming the living room from Red —> Smokey gray.  Click Here to see what it looked like before.  It is coming along, but slowly.  Everyday I’m moving things around trying to get it just right. I’m very excited about my new addition, a china cabinet.  I got it off Craigslist for $50.  Sky and I moved it ourselves and I have the...

First Overnight Kayak Trip on the Meramec
Our trip began on Saturday… We made some minor adjustments to the kayaks to allow us to carry more gear.  A small project turned into 2 1/2 hours of Sky operating a Pop Rivot Gun.  The trip was postponed until Sunday.  Picking up my new china cabinet was another time consuming adventure on Sunday, which you will hear more about later!  We finally got on the water around 5/6pm Sunday.  ...
